Privacy policy

Daily Query Lab (dailyquerylab.com) is run by RAMLOBIZNET, based in South Africa. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- Account details. If you sign in, we receive your email address and, if you use Google, your name. We don't receive your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account.
- Learning progress. Your solved challenges, streak, hints used, saved queries, query drafts and ERD diagrams, so you can pick up where you left off on any device.
- Technical information. Our hosting providers keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to run the service securely.
You can use the lab without an account. In that case your progress stays in your own browser and is not sent to us.
How we use it
- To sign you in and save your progress to your account.
- To keep the service secure and working, and to fix problems.
- To understand, in general terms, how the lab is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or share it with advertisers.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They process information only on our instructions:
- Supabase stores accounts and progress, in a data centre in Europe.
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Google provides "Sign in with Google", if you choose to use it.
Because these providers are outside South Africa, your information is transferred abroad. We use providers that apply recognised security and data-protection safeguards.
Cookies and browser storage
We use cookies only to keep you signed in. The lab also uses your browser's local storage to keep your progress on your device. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and progress while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and progress within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. You can also object to how we process it. Email ramlobiznet@gmail.com from the address linked to your account and we'll respond within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Security
Your information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Database security rules ensure each signed-in person can read and change only their own progress.
Children
Daily Query Lab is designed for students and educators. If you are under 18, please use it with the permission of a parent, guardian or your school.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
